Veteran batsman Umar Akmal has claimed that he has “all the proof” needed to show that he has been trying to contact Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Mohsin Naqvi, but can’t meet with him.

He noted that he has tried contacting the Naqvi’s manager and other members of staff to try and set up a meeting, but nothing has worked out.

In fact, Akmal pointed out that the PCB staff have been very rude to him, which has made him feel disrespected.

“I have all the proof I needed to show [that I have tried to contact the PCB chairman]. I have tried calling the chairman’s manager and people around him requesting to meet him, but they are behaving very rudely, saying: ‘We will inform you when he gives you time’ and disconnecting in my face,” he was quoted as saying by TOK Sports on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Akmal last played international cricket in October 2019, meaning he wasn’t part of the 2025 Champions Trophy or Pakistan’s limited overs tour of New Zealand.

The 35-year-old also didn’t feature in the 2025 Pakistan Super League (PSL), which the Lahore Qalandars won.

Pakistan’s next assignment will be a three-match T20I series against Bangladesh, which will be played in Lahore from May 28 to June 1.
