Mudassar Nazar asked why the Pakistan pace attack is generating so little reverse swing

Former Pakistan batsman Mudassar Nazar: “Unfortunately, our pacers are not generating as much reverse swing as they should. I feel they lack confidence, and the fact that they don’t play enough first-class cricket is a major reason behind it”

Former Pakistan batsman Mudassar Nazar has criticised the pace attack for not “not generating as much reverse swing as they should”.

He attributed this issue to a couple of reasons, with one of them being a lack of confidence.

Nazar added the other major reason is that the fast bowlers in the national team right now don’t play enough first-class cricket, which means they cannot develop their skills properly by bowling long spells.

“Unfortunately, our pacers are not generating as much reverse swing as they should. I feel they lack confidence, and the fact that they don’t play enough first-class cricket is a major reason behind it,” he was quoted as saying by Geo Super.

Pakistan recently featured in the 2025 Champions Trophy, but failed to impress as they were knocked out in the group stage.

Currently, they are in New Zealand and were thumped 4-1 in the T20I series.

The two teams are now facing each other in a three-match ODI series, which got underway on March 29 in Napier.
