Former Pakistan batsman Basit Ali believes limited overs captain Mohammad Rizwan is unhappy that all-rounder Faheem Ashraf is in the national team.
Faheem was recalled for the recent ODI tri-series against New Zealand and South Africa, where he scored 22 runs and went wicketless in the one game he played.
Currently, the 31-year-old is part of Pakistan’s Champions Trophy squad, but wasn’t included in the playing XI for the opening match against New Zealand, which the men in green lost by 60 runs.
“Rizwan clearly showed he was not happy with Faheem Ashraf being included in the team,” Basit said on his YouTube channel as quoted by Cricket Pakistan.
Pakistan’s next Champions Trophy match will be against India on February 23 in Dubai.
