Former Pakistan batsman Yasir Hameed believes the national team missed a trick by not selecting spinner Noman Ali for the 2025 Champions Trophy.
Noman has only been used in Test cricket so far and has taken 83 wickets in 19 matches, which includes eight five-wicket hauls, at an average of 24.75.
Despite not having made his ODI debut, Hameed feels the 38-year-old would have been useful due to his experience and his ability to take a lot of wickets on the pitches in Pakistan.
“Pakistan have missed [a] trick because of his experience [with the] ball,” he said on X, formerly known as Twitter.
The men in green began their Champions Trophy campaign against New Zealand on February 19, but ended up losing the match by 60 runs.
Pakistan’s next game will be against India on February 23 in Dubai.
