Pakistan Test captain Shan Masood has hinted that more opportunities could be given to wicketkeeper-batsman Rohail Nazir and fast bowler Kashif Ali in the future.
Nazir has represented Pakistan in three T20Is, with all of them coming at the 2023 Asian Games in Hangzhou, China.
As for Kashif, he recently made his international debut in the two-Test series against the West Indies in Multan.
Picked for the 2nd Test, Kashif took two wickets in total.
Knowing that both players possess a lot of potential, Masood seemingly wants to give them more chances to play. That said, he stressed that he won’t compromise the team’s strength.
“Rohail Nazir performed really well in recent domestic cricket. He was captain of Pakistan Shaheens as well as U-19. Kashif Ali performed as a seamer. We will play with our best strength but will give chance to debutants as well,” he was quoted as saying by journalist Arfa Feroz Zake on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Masood, Nazir and Kashif have all been overlooked for Pakistan’s ODI tri-series against New Zealand and South Africa, and the 2025 Champions Trophy.
