Former Pakistan seamer Tanvir Ahmed has called out middle order batsmen Saud Shakeel and Salman Ali Agha, saying they “struggle against fast bowlers and bouncy pitches abroad”.
He pointed out that they have no problems when playing at home, but have to learn to score runs overseas as it will be pivotal in helping the men in green win Test series.
It should be noted that Shakeel and Salman have become crucial members of the Pakistan Test team as they have brought much-needed stability to the middle order.
During the recent two-Test series in South Africa, Shakeel amassed 121 runs, which included a top score of 84, at an average of 30.25.
As for Salman, he finished with 86 runs at an average of 21.50.
Since Pakistan lost the series 2-0, Tanvir expects much more from the duo, stating that they “need to prove their worth in these conditions”.
“While they shine on spinning tracks in Pakistan, they struggle against fast bowlers and bouncy pitches abroad. They need to prove their worth in these conditions,” he was quoted as saying by Cricket Pakistan.

In the 1st Test, Shakeel scored 84 and 2, while Salman made 2 and 14.
