Former Pakistan left-arm seamer Sohail Tanvir has praised opener Saim Ayub and batting all-rounder Salman Ali Agha for their superb performances throughout the ongoing tour of South Africa.
Ayub and Salman have been two of Pakistan’s most consistent run-scorers as of late, while Salman has also been chipping in with a lot more wickets.
During the T20I series against the Proteas, Ayub amassed 129 runs in two games, which included a career-best knock of 98 not out, at an average of 129.
As for the ODI series, the 22-year-old made 235 runs in three matches, which included two centuries, at an average of 78.33.
He also took two wickets at an average of 34.
Salman, meanwhile, accumulated 163 runs in the ODI series, which included a career-best knock of 82 not out, at an average of 81.50.
The 31-year-old also picked up five wickets at an average of 22.
“Saim Ayub and Salman Ali Agha, your performances have been truly exceptional,” Tanvir said on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Pakistan and South Africa are now playing a two-Test series, which the Proteas lead 1-0 after winning the 1st Test in Centurion by two wickets.
In that match, Ayub scored 14 and 27, while Salman made 18 and 1.

Unfortunately, Ayub suffered a fractured ankle while fielding on the opening day and will be out of action for up to six weeks.
