Pakistan spinner Abrar Ahmed said he had been searching for an opportunity to play international cricket for a long time and is glad that he is making it count.

His comments come after he impressed during the recent limited overs tour of Zimbabwe, where he took six wickets in two ODIs at an average of 13.

As for the three-match T20I series that followed, the 26-year-old claimed four wickets in two games at an average of 12.25.

“I had self-belief as I had been bowling consistently in search of the opportunity since quite a long time,” he was quoted as saying by Geo Super.

Pakistan are now taking on South Africa and in the three-match T20I series, Abrar picked up three wickets in two games at an average of 22.

As for the ODI series, the Karachi native ended up with four wickets in two matches at an average of 20.

Pakistan and South Africa will now play a two-Test series, which starts on December 26 in Centurion.
