Pakistan batsman Ahmed Shehzad has blasted the national selectors for dropping spinner Sajid Khan for the upcoming two-Test series against South Africa.
Sajid made his Test comeback during the three-Test series against England in October 2024 and was a wicket-taking machine despite only featuring in the 2nd and 3rd Tests.
Overall, the 31-year-old claimed 19 wickets, which included two five-fors, at an average of 21.10 to help the men in green win the series 2-1.
Considering the huge impact Sajid had, Shehzad admitted it is infuriating to see Sajid not part of the Test squad for the South Africa tour.
“You have dropped Sajid Khan from the South Africa series; are you people blind or out of your minds? Do you think you’re the only one going to play in South Africa, where the entire world doesn’t play? And there, you’re taking just Noman Ali,” he said on his YouTube channel as quoted by Cricket Pakistan.
The Pakistan team recently travelled to Australia and triumphed 2-1 in the ODI series before being whitewashed 3-0 in the T20Is.
As for their trip to Zimbabwe, the men in green won both the ODI and T20I series 2-1.
In the ongoing tour of South Africa, Pakistan have had mixed results so far as they lost the T20Is 2-0 but won the ODIs 3-0.
The two-Test series will get underway on December 26 in Centurion.
