Pakistan limited overs captain Mohammad Rizwan has admitted that his side lacks experienced middle order batsmen.

The men in green have tried out a number of candidates, including Iftikhar Ahmed, Shadab Khan, Faheem Ashraf and many more.

However, since none of them could deliver consistently, Pakistan are now relying on Kamran Ghulam and Salman Ali Agha to get the job done.

But, since both players are relatively new to international cricket, Rizwan conceded that there is a need to find a middle order batsman with more experience.

“Pakistan is currently missing experienced middle order batters in [the] white-ball formats,” he was quoted as saying by journalist Arfa Feroz Zake on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Pakistan recently toured Australia and came away with mixed results as they won the ODI series 2-1 before being battered 3-0 in the T20Is.

As for their tour of Zimbabwe, they triumphed 2-1 in both the ODI and T20I series.

Pakistan are now in South Africa and kicked off their tour with a 2-0 loss in the three-match T20I series.

However, they have turned things around in the ongoing three-match ODI series as they hold an unassailable 2-0 lead going into the 3rd ODI on December 22 in Johannesburg.

Once the ODIs are done, Pakistan and South Africa will play two Tests, with the first match getting underway on December 26 in Centurion.
