Pakistan limited overs vice-captain Salman Ali Agha believes batsman Usman Khan and all-rounder Jahandad Khan have bright futures ahead of them.
He noted that the duo’s performances were among the bright spots for the men in green during their recent limited overs series against Australia and Zimbabwe.
Against Australia, Usman made 59 runs in three T20Is, which included a career-best score of 52, at an average of 19.66.
Jahandad, meanwhile, only featured in one T20I, where he scored five runs and took one wicket.
As for the Zimbabwe series, Usman accumulated 44 runs in three matches at an average of 22.
Jahandad played all three games this time and struck six runs to go along with three wickets at an average of 24.
“Lots of positives. The way Usman batted, the way Jahandad bowled. These youngsters will come good,” Salman was quoted as saying by Geo Super.
Pakistan are now in South Africa and trail 1-0 in the ongoing three-match T20I series.
Once the T20Is conclude, Pakistan and South Africa will play three ODIs and two Tests, which will start on December 17 and December 26 respectively.
