Pakistan opening batsman Saim Ayub has highlighted the importance of staying in form, saying he may perform well today, but has to do the same thing tomorrow.
Ayub has had a decent start to his international career, but has endured periods where his batting his been inconsistent.
Considered to be one of the future stars of Pakistan cricket, the 22-year-old knows he has to keep putting up big performances if he wants to keep hold of his spot in the national team.
“If you performed today, you still have to perform tomorrow,” he was quoted as saying by PakPassion on X, formerly known as Twitter.
During Pakistan’s recent limited overs series against Australia, Ayub made 125 runs in three ODIs, which included a top score of 82, at an average of 41.66.
However, he didn’t play in the three-match T20I series that followed.
