Pakistan spinner Sajid Khan said he knew he would do well in the three-Test series against England after being called up to the squad midway through.
The 31-year-old was disappointed to miss out on selection for the two-Test series against Bangladesh, which Pakistan lost 2-0, and thus wanted to stamp his authority when given the chance to play in the second and third Tests against England.
Sajid did exactly that as he carved through England’s batting line-up time and time again, and ultimately finished with 19 wickets, which included two five-wicket hauls, at an average of 21.10.
Thanks to his outstanding bowling, the men in green won 2-1, which was their first Test series win at home since 2021.
“I didn’t get a chance against Bangladesh but I was confident that if I [was] picked against England, I would do well,” he was quoted as saying by PakPassion on X, formerly known as Twitter.
After the England series, Pakistan faced Australia in a white-ball series, which consisted of three ODIs and three T20Is.
They triumphed 2-1 in the ODIs, which gave them their first ODI series win in Australia since 2002.
As for the T20I series, Australia thrashed the men in green 3-0.
Pakistan’s next assignment will be a white-ball tour of Zimbabwe, where they will play three ODIs and three T20Is from November 24 to December 5.
