Former Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Ramiz Raja said he sees Test captain Shan Masood as a son and often talks to him about his batting.
Ramiz’s comments come after he received a lot of backlash for questioning Masood about how he lost six Test matches in a row after Pakistan defeated England 2-1 in their three-Test series.
Many felt it was a disrespectful question and sullied the team’s victory over England, which was their first Test series win at home since 2021.
Ramiz made it clear that it wasn’t his intention to upset Masood or anyone else.
“Shan is like a son to me; we often discuss his batting,” he was quoted as saying by Cricket Pakistan.
In the England series, Masood amassed 225 runs, which included a top score of 151, at an average of 45.
Following this, the men in green took on Australia in a limited overs series, which consisted of three ODIs and three T20Is.
Pakistan triumphed 2-1 in the ODIs, which gave them their first ODI series win in Australia since 2002.
However, their momentum fizzled out in the T20I series as they were crushed 3-0.
The men in green will now head to Zimbabwe to play three ODIs and three T20Is from November 24 to December 5.
