Former Pakistan captain Salman Butt has praised the exciting pace duo of Jahandad Khan and Ubaid Shah, saying they have been bowling “very well”.
Jahandad, who can also bat, was recently in action in the Champions One-Day Cup, which was a domestic 50-over competition held in Faisalabad, and was the joint second-highest wicket-taker with 10 wickets in five games for the Stallions at an average of 19.
He also made 96 runs at an average of 24.
As for Ubaid, who is the younger brother of Pakistan speedster Naseem Shah, he picked up three wickets in one match for the Stallions at an average of 15.33.
Following the Champions One-Day Cup, Jahandad went on to play for Pakistan Television in the President’s Cup Grade-I (1-Day) tournament and snapped up seven wickets in five matches at an average of 26.57.
Batting-wise, he accumulated 57 runs, which included a top score of 51 not out, at an average of 19.
Ubaid, meanwhile, played for Ghani Glass and claimed four wickets in three games at an average of 28.50.
Having shown great potential, Salman thinks both players have bright futures ahead of them.
“Jahandad, the left-arm pacer, and Ubaid Shah also bowled very well,” he was quoted as saying by Cricket Pakistan.
Neither Jahandad nor Ubaid were picked for Pakistan’s two-Test series against Bangladesh, which they lost 2-0.
The men in green then took on England in a three-match Test series and won 2-1, which earned them their first Test series victory on home soil since 2021.
Pakistan are now facing Australia in a white-ball series, which consists of three ODIs and three T20Is.
After this, they will tour Zimbabwe and play three ODIs and three T20Is from November 24 to December 5.
