Legendary Pakistan spinner Saeed Ajmal has applauded the approach Mubasir Khan has taken in his last few games.

Mubasir, an all-rounder who bowls off-spin, was recently in action in the Champions One-Day Cup, which was a domestic 50-over tournament held in Faisalabad.

In the four games he played for the Panthers, he took seven wickets at an average of 28.14.

Ajmal noted that he really liked the fact that the 22-year-old from Rawalpindi prioritised restricting the flow of runs over wickets as it enabled him to have a better impact.

Mubasir also scored 198 runs in the tournament, which included a top score of 90, at an average of 36.50.

“They should focus on being economical, not chasing wickets, to make an impact, like Mubasir’s approach in his games,” Ajmal was quoted as saying by PakPassion on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Mubasir was not selected for Pakistan’s recent two-Test series against Bangladesh, which they lost 2-0.

He is also not part of the squad for the ongoing three-match Test series against England, where Pakistan find themselves trailing 1-0 after losing the first Test in Multan by an innings and 47 runs.

The second Test will start on October 15 in Multan.
