Legendary South Africa seamer Dale Steyn picked iconic Pakistan speedster Shoaib Akhtar when answering a question about which bowler had the best yorker in history.
The query was posted by Iceland Cricket on X, formerly known as Twitter, and Steyn subsequently responded with Akhtar while also clarifying that the Rawalpindi Express’ best yorker came during the 1999 ICC Cricket World Cup.
Akhtar is widely regarded as one of the scariest fast bowlers in history and to this day, he still holds the record for the quickest ball at 161.3 kph (100.2 mph).
“99 World Cup, Shoaib Akhtar,” Steyn said on X.
Akhtar represented Pakistan in 46 Tests and claimed 178 wickets at an average of 25.69.
He also featured in 163 ODIs and picked up 247 wickets at an average of 24.97.
As for his T20I career, the 48-year-old snapped up 19 wickets in 15 matches at an average of 22.73.
