Former India spinner Harbhajan Singh said legendary wicketkeeper-batsman MS Dhoni is “far ahead” of Pakistan’s Mohammad Rizwan.

His comments come after a journalist compared Dhoni and Rizwan, and asked people to choose who is better out of the two.

Not at all impressed, Harbhajan hit back, saying “what are you smoking nowadays” and subsequently proceeded to say that even Rizwan would admit that Dhoni is better than him.

“What are you smoking nowadays??? What a silly question to ask. Brothers, tell him. Dhoni is far ahead of Rizwan. Even if you ask Rizwan, he will give you an honest answer. I like Rizwan; he is a good player who always plays with intent, but this comparison is wrong. Dhoni is No. 1 even today in world cricket. None better than him behind [the] stumps,” he said on X, as quoted by Cricket Pakistan.

Rizwan recently featured in the 2024 T20 World Cup and amassed 110 runs in four matches, which included a top score of 53 not out, at an average of 36.66 and a strike-rate of 90.90.

Pakistan began their campaign with back-to-back losses to the United States of America and India before fighting back to beat Canada and Ireland.

Even though they ended the group stage on a high, the men in green failed to advance to the Super Eights.
