Former Pakistan team director Mohammad Hafeez has praised limited overs captain Babar Azam, saying he is a “strong batter” who can score runs in different conditions.
The 29-year-old has repeatedly got the job done with the bat in all three formats, even with the added pressure of the captaincy weighing down on his shoulders.
Azam’s form had been a concern a few months ago, but lately, he has started showing the consistency everyone expects of him.
“Babar is a strong batter who knows how to bat in different conditions,” Hafeez told Geo News as quoted by NDTV.
Azam recently captained Pakistan in the 2024 T20 World Cup and was the team’s highest run-scorer with 122 runs in four matches at an average of 40.66 and a strike-rate of 101.66.
The men in green started their campaign with consecutive losses to the United States of America and India before fighting back to defeat Canada and Ireland,
Even though they won their last two group stage games, Pakistan could not make it through to the Super Eights.
