Former England skipper Nasser Hussain said watching Pakistan captain Babar Azam’s cover drive is “something you never get tired of”.
Many former and current cricketers think Azam has the best cover drive in world cricket as he plays it with complete style and grace.
The 29-year-old has been Pakistan’s most consistent batsman over the past few years and has repeatedly won them matches for precarious positions.
“Something you never get tired of – the Babar Azam cover drive,” Hussain was quoted as saying by respected journalist Saj Sadiq on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Azam recently led Pakistan in a five-match T20I series against New Zealand and amassed 125 runs, which included a top score of 69, at an average of 31.25 and a strike-rate of 138.88.
He then played in the three-match T20I series against Ireland and struck 132 runs, which included two fifties, at an average of 44 and a strike-rate of 148.31.
Following this, the Lahore-born batsman accumulated 68 runs in two T20Is against England at an average of 34 and a strike-rate of 141.66.
Pakistan then featured in the 2024 T20 World Cup and Azam scored 122 runs in four matches at an average of 40.66 and a strike-rate of 101.66.
The men in green started off with successive losses to the United States of America and India before rebounding to beat Canada and Ireland.
Even though they ended the group stage on a high, they failed to book their spot in the Super Eights.
