Pakistan big-hitting batsman Sohaib Maqsood has admitted that he cannot understand why mystery spinner Abrar Ahmed is not being used at all.
Abrar was not part of Pakistan’s squad for the 2023 ICC Cricket World Cup, but was picked for the 2024 T20 World Cup, where he didn’t play in any of the matches.
Given how much talent the 25-year-old has, along with the fact that first-choice spinner Shadab Khan is not taking wickets, Maqsood questioned Pakistan’s selection decisions and urged the team management to get Abrar into the playing XI as soon as possible.
“Abrar, not playing matches in 50-over World Cup and now not playing matches in T20 World Cup is incomprehensible, I swear,” he said on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Pakistan lost to the United States of America and India in the T20 World Cup before bouncing back to take down Canada and Ireland.
However, those two victories went in vain as the men in green failed to progress to the Super Eights.
