Former Pakistan fast bowler Tanvir Ahmed has blasted wicketkeeper-batsman Azam Khan, saying his performance is absolutely zero.

He also believes the 25-year-old, who is the son of ex-Pakistan captain Moin Khan, has lost all his confidence.

Azam has been heavily criticised throughout his career for being overweight, while his poor performances at the international level haven’t helped his cause.

So far, he has amassed 88 runs in 14 T20Is at an average of 8.80 and a strike-rate of 133.33.

“Azam khan ki performance bilkul zero ha confidence bilkul khatam (Azam Khan’s performance is absolutely zero, confidence is absolutely finished),” Tanvir said on X, formerly known as Twitter.

In the 2024 T20 World Cup, Azam only featured in Pakistan’s opening game against the United States of America, but was dismissed for a golden duck.

The men in green lost to the United States of America and India before picking up consecutive wins over Canada and Ireland.

Even though they ended the group stage on a high, they failed to make it through to the Super Eights.
