Wasim Akram: “He can take a chance with the new ball and pitch it up. Bowl like Shaheen Afridi”

Pace icon Wasim Akram has advised India fast bowler Arshdeep Singh to bowl like Pakistan pace spearhead Shaheen Shah Afridi with the new ball.
Arshdeep is a rising star in international cricket and played an instrumental role in India’s T20 World Cup triumph as he was the joint-highest wicket-taker in the tournament with 17 victims in eight matches at an average of 12.64 and an economy rate of 7.16.
Wasim believes the 25-year-old will have even more success and deliver early breakthroughs if he pitches the ball up at the beginning of the innings.
“He can take a chance with the new ball and pitch it up. Bowl like Shaheen Afridi,” the Sultan of Swing was quoted as saying by A Sports.
Afridi represented Pakistan in the T20 World Cup and claimed five wickets in four games at an average of 21 and an economy rate of 6.56.
The men in green lost to the United States of America and India before bouncing back to take down Canada and Ireland.
Despite winning those two matches, Pakistan were eliminated in the group stage of the competition.
