Former Pakistan cricketer Atiq-uz-Zaman believes wicketkeeper-batsmen Mohammad Rizwan, Mohammad Haris and Haseebullah Khan have all been victims of injustice due to Azam Khan.
Azam has been given a continuous run in the national team despite failing to score runs virtually every game.
In the 2024 T20 World Cup, the 25-year-old, who is the son of former Pakistan captain Moin Khan, made a golden duck against the United States of America, which is the only match he featured in.
Atiq noted that he feels bad for Rizwan, who is supposed to be the first-choice wicketkeeper-batsman, along with Haris and Haseebullah as both of them are talented players who have shown plenty of potential.
“It’s an injustice with guys like Mohammad Rizwan, Mohammad Haris & Haseebullah Khan. Azam can never be a world-class wicketkeeper,” he told PakPassion.
Pakistan lost their first two T20 World Cup games against the United States of America and India before rebounding to take down Canada and Ireland.
However, those two wins didn’t save them from getting eliminated in the group stage of the tournament.
