Salman Butt: “Among all-rounders, they must consider Aamer Jamal. He bowled well in the Test series against Australia but failed in [the] T20Is in New Zealand. However, he should be there as [a] pace all-rounder”

Former Pakistan captain Salman Butt wants pace-bowling all-rounder Aamer Jamal to be considered for selection for the 2024 T20 World Cup.
Jamal had an instant impact on his international debut in a three-match Test series against Australia, against whom he took 18 wickets at an average of 20.44.
He also scored 143 runs, which included a top score of 82, at an average of 28.60.
Following a spectacular debut series, Jamal featured in Pakistan’s T20I series against New Zealand in January 2024 and claimed one wicket in two games at an average of 97 and an economy rate of 12.12.
As for his batting, the 27-year-old struck 23 runs at an average of 23 and a strike-rate of 153.33.
Even though he had a forgettable campaign against the Black Caps, Salman feels Jamal can be a useful asset for Pakistan in the T20 World Cup.
“Among all-rounders, they must consider Aamer Jamal. He bowled well in the Test series against Australia but failed in [the] T20Is in New Zealand. However, he should be there as [a] pace all-rounder,” he said on his YouTube channel as quoted by Geo Super.
Jamal didn’t feature in Pakistan’s five-match T20I series against New Zealand in April 2024, which concluded as a 2-2 draw.
The men in green then proceeded to beat Ireland 2-1 in a three-match T20I series.
Pakistan’s next assignment will see them play four T20Is against England from May 22 to May 30.
Afterwards, they will feature in the T20 World Cup, which will be held in the West Indies and United States of America from June 1 to 29.
Pakistan’s first T20 World Cup game will be against the United States of America in Dallas on June 6.

The time for experimentation is over !
With limited seats (15 ),
it is too late for Aamer Jamal. We have places for 3 fast bowlers in the playing XI, Shaheen. Aamir and Naseem – Haris could jump in if any of them misfire + Imad is a must alongwith another spinner, Abrar or Shadab (now out of form).
