Former Pakistan team director and interim head coach Mohammad Hafeez believes rising star Hunain Shah has a better bowling action than his brother Naseem.
Hunain is one of the top pace prospects in the country and has been excelling at the domestic level.
The 20-year-old recently played alongside Naseem and his other brother Ubaid for Islamabad United in the 2024 Pakistan Super League (PSL).
In the 10 matches he played, Hunain took eight wickets at an average of 28.12 and an economy rate of 9.50.
“Hunain Shah has a better bowling action than Naseem Shah,” Hafeez was quoted as saying by journalist Arfa Feroz Zake on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Naseem, meanwhile, claimed 15 wickets in 11 matches at an average of 22.20 and an economy rate of 7.56.
Islamabad went on to win PSL 9 after beating the Multan Sultans by two wickets in the final.
In Pakistan’s five-match T20I series against New Zealand in April 2024, Naseem snapped up two wickets in three games at an average of 35.50 and an economy rate of 10.14.
He is now featuring in the three-match T20I series against Ireland and finished with figures of 1-37 off his four overs in the first game, which Pakistan lost by five wickets.
Following the Ireland series, Pakistan will play four T20Is against England from May 22 to May 30.
