Pakistan spinner Shadab Khan believes Imad Wasim is “one of the best all-rounders in the world.”

His comments come after he played alongside Imad while captaining Islamabad United in the 2024 Pakistan Super League (PSL).

After a slow start in the tournament, the 35-year-old caught fire and ended up taking 12 wickets in 12 matches at an average of 20.91 and an economy rate of 6.60.

He also performed with the bat, making 126 runs, which included a top score of 59 not out, at an average of 21 and a strike-rate of 128.57.

“Imad Wasim is one of the best all-rounders in the world,” Shadab was quoted as saying by PakPassion.

The 25-year-old from Mianwali also did well in PSL 9 as he claimed 14 wickets in 12 games at an average of 26.85 and an economy rate of 8.54.

He also scored 305 runs, which included three fifties, at an average of 30.50 and a strike-rate of 142.52.

Islamabad were crowned champions in PSL 9 after beating the Multan Sultans by two wickets in the final.

Imad made his international comeback in Pakistan’s five-match T20I series against New Zealand, where he took one wicket in two games at an average of 37 and an economy rate of 7.40.

As for Shadab, he finished with three wickets in five matches at an average of 18 and an economy rate of 6.75.

Pakistan’s next assignment will be a three-match T20I series against Ireland from May 10 to 14.

After that, they will play four T20Is against England from May 22 to May 30.
