Pakistan batsman Irfan Khan said it is time for him to seize his opportunity after he was selected for the upcoming five-match T20I series against New Zealand.

Irfan was called up to the T20I squad following a strong showing in the 2024 Pakistan Super League (PSL), where he scored 171 runs in nine matches for the Karachi Kings at an average of 42.75 and a strike-rate of 140.16.

With the New Zealand T20I series starting on April 18, the 21-year-old from Mianwali knows he has the chance to not only make his international debut, but also potentially cement a place for himself in the team going forward.

Breaking into such a formidable team like Pakistan is a testament to the dedication and effort I have put into my game. Now, my focus is on seizing this opportunity and solidifying my position within the team,” he was quoted as saying in a press release from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

“I am fully committed to continuing to work diligently and proving myself worthy of the trust placed in me by the captain and selectors.”

The first three T20Is will be played in Rawalpindi, while the last two will be held in Lahore.
