Karachi Kings assistant coach Ravi Bopara said up-and-coming Pakistan batsman Irfan Khan really impressed him during the 2024 Pakistan Super League (PSL).
Irfan represented the Kings in nine matches and scored 171 runs at an average of 42.75 and a strike-rate of 140.16.
Given how well he fared in PSL 9, Bopara believes the 21-year-old from Mianwali has a bright future ahead of him.
“I’ve been impressed with some of the young guys like [Irfan Khan] Niazi,” he was quoted as saying by A Sports.
Aside from his performance in this year’s PSL, Irfan has also made a brilliant start to his first-class career, having amassed 800 runs in 13 matches, which includes a century and five fifties, at an average of 57.14.
Irfan is currently representing Pakistan in their five-match T20I series against New Zealand and scored an unbeaten 18 in the second T20I, which the men in green won by seven wickets.
The series is currently tied 1-1 ahead of the fourth T20I, which will take place on April 25 in Lahore.
