Pakistan mystery spinner Abrar Ahmed has revealed that he is working on a “couple of other deliveries” that will make him even more deadly.
Abrar made a huge splash in his Test debut in December 2022, taking 11 wickets against England, seven of which came in the first innings.
Since then, he has continued to bamboozle batsmen in the longest format and has claimed 38 wickets in six matches at an average of 31.07.
The 25-year-old will no doubt be looking to make his debut in limited overs cricket in the future, especially after his performance in the 2024 Pakistan Super League (PSL).
Abrar played for the Quetta Gladiators in PSL 9 and finished as the third-highest wicket-taker with 16 wickets in 10 games at an average of 19.56 and an economy rate of 7.82.
The Karachi-born spinner will have his sights set on playing in the 2024 T20 World Cup in June, but for the time being, he is working on adding more variations to his already vast arsenal.
“Besides mystery spin, I’m working on a couple of other deliveries,” he was quoted as saying by Grassroots Cricket on X, formerly known as Twitter.
