Former West Indies pace bowler Ian Bishop has praised “top-class” Pakistan seamer Zaman Khan, saying it is typical of him to bowl unplayable yorkers.

Zaman is one of the bright young stars of Pakistan cricket and is likely to be utilised more often, especially in T20Is.

Recently, he played for the Lahore Qalandars in the 2024 Pakistan Super League (PSL) and took 11 wickets in nine matches at an average of 28.72 and an economy rate of 9.87.

Having enjoyed a strong campaign in PSL 9, Bishop lauded the 22-year-old from Mirpur for his exceptional bowling.

“Top class, typical of Zaman Khan. In the greatest tradition of Pakistani yorker bowlers,” he was quoted as saying by respected journalist Saj Sadiq on X, formerly known as Twitter.

The Qalandars were the defending champions coming into PSL 9, but failed to make the playoffs as they only won one out of the 10 games they played.
