Pakistan big-hitting batsman Asif Ali said he worked hard to address the weaknesses he had and plans to unleash his A-game in the ongoing 2024 Pakistan Super League (PSL).
Asif last played for Pakistan as a member of their squad for the 2023 Asian Games in Hangzhou, China. Before that, his previous international match for the men in green came in October 2022.
Eager to revive his international career, the 32-year-old has vowed to show how much he has improved while playing for the Peshawar Zalmi in PSL 9.
He hopes to produce many strong performances throughout the tournament as he knows it could convince the national selectors to renew their interest in him, especially with the 2024 T20 World Cup right around the corner.
“I have worked on what I lacked, I will try to show them in PSL,” he was quoted as saying by Cricket Pakistan.
In PSL 9, Asif has made 72 runs in six matches at an average of 18 and a strike-rate of 141.17.
