Shahid Afridi: “He knows his responsibility and how important he is to the team”

Legendary Pakistan big-hitter Shahid Afridi said pace spearhead Shaheen Shah Afridi knows how important he is to the national team.
Shaheen repeatedly provides Pakistan with early breakthroughs and is seen as the go-to bowler whenever the men in green need a wicket.
With numerous responsibilities on his shoulders, including captaining the T20I team, Shahid noted it is important for the 23-year-old to keep fulfilling them.
“He knows his responsibility and how important he is to the team,” he was quoted as saying by Cricket Pakistan.
Shaheen recently played in Pakistan’s three-match Test series against Australia and took eight wickets in two games at an average of 41.62.
He followed that up with nine wickets in five T20Is against New Zealand at an average of 19.22 and an economy rate of 8.94.
Shaheen is now captaining the Lahore Qalandars in the 2024 Pakistan Super League (PSL) and has picked up nine wickets in six matches at an average of 22.22 and an economy rate of 8.33.
