Pakistan T20I captain Shaheen Shah Afridi believes pace bowler Abbas Afridi is one of the country’s brightest prospects.
Abbas was given the opportunity to make his international debut in the recent five-match T20I series against New Zealand and didn’t disappoint as he claimed five wickets in three games at an average of 16.20 and an economy rate of nine.
Having seen what the 22-year-old is capable of doing, Shaheen acknowledged that the future is bright for Abbas.
“Abbas Afridi is a very good prospect for Pakistan,” he was quoted as saying by Cricket Pakistan.
Abbas is now representing the Multan Sultans in the 2024 Pakistan Super League (PSL) and has taken six wickets in three games.
As for Shaheen, he is captaining the Lahore Qalandars in PSL 9 and has claimed three wickets in three matches.
