Aakash Chopra, the former India cricketer, said Pakistan wicketkeeper-batsman Mohammad Rizwan “is a warrior” who keeps on fighting.

Rizwan is well known for his grit and determination, even in situations where the men in green find themselves on the back foot, such as in the ongoing 2023 ICC Cricket World Cup.

The 31-year-old has been one of the few bright spots for his team as he is their highest run-scorer with 302 runs in five games, which includes a century and a fifty, at an average of 75.50.

Despite having lost three games in a row, Chopra expects Rizwan to keep battling right to the end in order to give his side a chance to qualify for the semi-finals.

“He is a warrior and he keeps fighting,” he said on his YouTube channel as quoted by Cricket Pakistan.

Pakistan began their World Cup campaign with successive wins over the Netherlands and Sri Lanka.

However, everything has gone downhill for them since then as they lost to India, Australia and Afghanistan.

With their confidence having taken a big hit, the men in green will be eager to rack up a win when they face South Africa on October 27 in Chennai.
