Pakistan captain Babar Azam has said that whenever big-hitting opening batsman Sharjeel Khan is picked in the playing XI, he will bat in the top order.
This comes after Sharjeel featured in the recent T20 series against the West Indies.
Pakistan only batted once in the four matches as three were washed out due to rain.
In the one match they played and won by seven runs, Sharjeel made 20 runs.
“Sharjeel Khan plays in the top order. If he gets a chance, it will be in the top order,” Azam was quoted as saying by Cricket Pakistan.
Currently, Sharjeel is playing for the Mirpur Royals in the Kashmir Premier League (KPL) and has accumulated 125 runs in four matches, which includes a top score of 57, at an average of 31.25 and a strike-rate of 166.66.
