Tanvir Ahmed on Azam Khan: “If he is able to hit that many, Pakistan will have [the] world’s biggest hitter”

Former Pakistan speedster Tanvir Ahmed said wicketkeeper-batsman Azam Khan will be the “world’s biggest hitter” if his claims of wanting to hit 15-20 sixes per match come true.
Azam previously said that he practices hitting 100 sixes a day when training as this will help him hammer 15-20 sixes in a game.
However, Tanvir pointed out that even West Indies powerhouse Chris Gayle, who is known for his six-hitting abilities, doesn’t smash that many maximums in one match.
“If he is able to hit that many, Pakistan will have [the] world’s biggest hitter. Even Chris Gayle doesn’t hit that [many] sixes,” he said on his YouTube channel as quoted by Khel Shel.
Azam recently earned his maiden call-up to the Pakistan T20 side for the upcoming tours of England and the West Indies.
The youngster, who is the son of former Pakistan captain and wicketkeeper-batsman Moin Khan, has been included in the Pakistan team due to his performances in domestic cricket.
In the Pakistan Cup, the 22-year-old accumulated 186 runs in seven games for Sindh, which included a top score of 69, at an average of 46.50 and a strike-rate of 124.83.
As for the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL), he scored 174 runs in 10 matches for the Quetta Gladiators, which includes a top score of 47, at an average of 17.40 and a strike-rate of 133.84.
Despite his efforts, the Gladiators failed to qualify for the playoffs as they only won two of their 10 games.
Pakistan will play three ODIs and three T20 Internationals against England. The ODI series will begin on July 8 and conclude on July 13, while the T20 series will be held from July 16 to 20.
The tour of the West Indies will consist of five T20 Internationals and two Tests, with the T20 series getting underway on July 27 and ending on August 3.
As for the Test series, it will start on August 12 and conclude on August 24.

I guess sohaib maqsood is a better option rather then azam khan
Although he can hit the ball hard but still there is nothing under his belt which can earn him a place in national team. If hard hitting batsmen like Imran Nazir, Shahid Afridi, Abdul Razzaq, Sohaib Maqsood, Asif Ali failed to be consistent performer than off course he can’t as they are much more promising and talented than him and to me till date there is nothing extraordinary in him except he is Moin Khan’s son and Nadeem Khan’s nephew….
One of the reasons for poor show of Quetta Gladiator during last couple of seasons is his permanent inclusion in the playing eleven & I am 100% sure that if Moin was not there he can’t be selected in the side…….
Moreover, It will be a news if anyone else can be considered for national side with such fitness level….
Good luck to him but as I see now he is going to be another failure…..
He can strike the ball powerfully, he has no experience that would qualify him for the national team. He can’t, of course, if hard-hitting batsmen like Imran Nazir, Shahid Afridi, Abdul Razzaq, Sohaib Maqsood, and Asif Ali failed to deliver consistently because they are far more talented and promising than he is. To me, the only noteworthy thing about him to date is that he is Moin Khan’s son and Nadeem Khan’s nephew.
