He has become a limited cricketer, Wasim on 32-year-old Pakistan player who can have a big impact with both the bat and ball

Mohammad Wasim said Imad Wasim has become a limited cricketer

Mohammad Wasim: “We have seen some limitations in Imad’s game, which he needs to improve. In white-ball cricket, especially, you can’t be a limited cricketer and need to be ready for a given situation or conditions”

Pakistan chief selector Mohammad Wasim said spin-bowling all-rounder Imad Wasim has become a “limited cricketer”.

Wasim noted that this was among the reasons why he was not picked for the tour of South Africa and Zimbabwe.

He noted that Imad needs to be more versatile going forward and until that happens, Mohammad Nawaz will be preferred.

“We have seen some limitations in Imad’s game, which he needs to improve. In white-ball cricket, especially, you can’t be a limited cricketer and need to be ready for a given situation or conditions,” Wasim was quoted as saying by Cricket Pakistan.

“When we compared the two, we saw Nawaz as the better option.”

Pakistan will play three ODIs and four T20 Internationals against South Africa before heading to Zimbabwe for two Tests and three T20 Internationals.

Pakistan will depart for South Africa on March 26 and the tour will commence on April 2 and conclude on April 16. The ODI series will be played first.

The men in green will then head to Zimbabwe on April 17, but the dates for the matches have yet to be confirmed.

However, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) noted that the national team will travel back to Lahore from Bulawayo on May 12.
