Pakistan captain Sarfraz Ahmed has revealed that there are a number of players who have done extremely well in the World Cup.

Sarfraz’s comments come ahead of Pakistan’s World Cup clash against Bangladesh at Lord’s on Friday, where they have to win by over 300 runs to have any chance of qualifying for the semi-finals.

If Pakistan fail to do so, New Zealand will join Australia, India and England in the last four.

Looking back at Pakistan’s World Cup campaign, Sarfraz believes that batsman Babar Azam, spinner Shadab Khan and left-arm seamers Shaheen Shah Afridi, Mohammad Amir and Wahab Riaz have all been brilliant.

Azam has been Pakistan’s best batsman in the tournament as he has scored 378 runs in seven matches, which includes a century and two fifties, at an average of 63.

Shadab has taken seven wickets in six games at an average of 37.28.

As for Amir, he is the joint third-highest wicket-taker in the World Cup with 16 wickets in seven matches at an average of 20.43.

Afridi has picked up 10 wickets in four games at an average of 19.90, while Wahab has claimed 10 wickets in seven matches at an average of 36.70.

“It’s Babar Azam’s first World Cup and he has been brilliant,” Sarfraz was quoted as saying by Saj Sadiq on Twitter. “Shaheen Shah Afridi has performed really well, Mohammad Amir has been excellent, Wahab Riaz has made a good comeback and Shadab has bowled well.”
