Former Pakistan captain Moin Khan has revealed that the national team need to be “fearless” and have “self belief” if they want to win the World Cup.

Pakistan have not fared very well in ODIs this year as they were beaten 3-2 by South Africa before being whitewashed 5-0 by Australia in the United Arab Emirates.

They are also currently playing a five-match ODI series against England.

However, despite their poor form in the 50-over format this year, Moin feels the men in green can taste World Cup glory if they showcase both those traits throughout the tournament.

“I will say that the players will have to be fearless,” Moin told Geo.tv. “Self-belief will be the key … if they start every match with the belief that they can win it, then they will surely do it. Keep your morale high in every game.”

Pakistan will kick off their World Cup campaign against the West Indies in Nottingham on May 31.
