Bangladesh spinner Taijul Islam scythed through the West Indies’ batting line-up with a six-wicket haul to lead his side to a 64-run win on the third day in Chittagong.
Starting off the day on 55/5, Bangladesh only added 14 runs to their overnight score before Mushfiqur Rahim was clean bowled by Shannon Gabriel for 19.
Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Mahmudullah managed to add 37 runs to the score before Mehidy was caught behind off the bowling of Devendra Bishoo for 18.
Debutant Nayeem Hasan fell shortly after, while Mahmudullah went on to score 31 before he was dismissed by Bishoo two balls later.
Bangladesh ended up being bowled out for 125, which set the West Indies 204 to win, when Taijul was sent packing by Roston Chase for one run.
Bishoo was the pick of the bowlers with four wickets, while Chase took three, Jomel Warrican got two and Gabriel chipped in with one.
Chasing 204 to win, the West Indies lost opener Kieran Powell early on as he was stumped by Rahim off the bowling of Bangladesh captain Shakib Al Hasan for a golden duck.
Shai Hope only made three runs before he was caught behind off the bowling of Shakib.
West Indies stand-in captain Kraigg Brathwaite was the next to go as he was trapped lbw off the bowling of Taijul for eight runs.
Shimron Hetmyer struck a quickfire 27 before he was caught by Nayeem at long-off off the bowling of Mehidy.
Taijul then took out Shane Dowrich, Kemar Roach and Bishoo in quick succession, but Warrican and Sunil Ambris put up a valiant fight and forged a 63-run partnership.
Warrican ended up making 41 before he was caught by Shakib off the bowling of Mehidy.
The West Indies were eventually skittled out for 139 when Ambris was caught behind off the bowling of Taijul for 43.
Taijul was the most successful bowler with six wickets, while Shakib and Mehidy claimed two wickets each.
Bangladesh batsman Mominul Haque was named Man of the Match for his knock of 120 in the first innings.
