India wicketkeeper-batsman Wriddhiman Saha is likely to miss part of the upcoming five-Test series against England since he has failed to sufficiently recover from a thumb injury.
Saha suffered the left thumb injury during the Indian Premier League (IPL) and subsequently missed the historic Test against Afghanistan, who made their debut in the longest format.
The BCCI initially said that Saha’s injury would take five to six weeks to heal, but since he will need more time to recover, it is likely that Dinesh Karthik will take his spot in the playing XI.
India’s Test series against England begins on August 1 at Edgbaston.
