Sarfraz Ahmed Mohammad Amir not retiring from Test cricket Pakistan

Sarfraz Ahmed: “He [Amir] is only 26 right now, so why would he leave Test cricket”

Pakistan captain Sarfraz Ahmed has played down speculation that left-arm seamer Mohammad Amir will be retiring from Test cricket.

Amir’s workload has come into the spotlight as of late since he suffered from a knee issue during the historic Test against Ireland, who made their debut in the longest format.

During the recent tour of England, he sustained a shoulder niggle during the second Test at Headingley.

While head coach Mickey Arthur has confirmed that Amir’s workload will be closely monitored in the lead-up to the 2019 World Cup, Sarfraz reiterated that the 26-year-old is still in the early stages of his career and will continue representing the country in Test cricket.

“He [Amir] is only 26 right now, so why would he leave Test cricket,” Sarfraz was quoted as saying by The Express Tribune.
