Bangladesh captain Shakib Al Hasan will return during the upcoming Twenty20 series against Sri Lanka after recovering from a finger injury.

Shakib sustained the injury during the ODI tri-series final against Sri Lanka, which caused him to miss the recently concluded two-Test series against the same opposition.

In addition to Shakib, Bangladesh have included five uncapped players – Abu Jayed, Ariful Haque, Mahedi Hasan, Zakir Hasan and Afif Hossain – in their squad for the first Twenty20 International, which will be held in Dhaka on February 15.

Opening batsman Tamim Iqbal and left-arm seamer Mustafizur Rahman are back in the side after missing the Twenty20 series against South Africa in October due to injuries.

Left-arm pace bowler Abu Hider, who last played Twenty20 cricket in March 2016, also made the cut.

However, there was no place in the side for Imrul Kayes, Liton Das, Mehidy Hasan, Shafiul Islam, Mominul Haque, Nasir Hossain and Taskin Ahmed.

Bangladesh’s T20 Squad: Shakib Al Hasan (capt), Tamim Iqbal, Soumya Sarkar, Mushfiqur Rahim, Mahmudullah, Sabbir Rahman, Mustafizur Rahman, Rubel Hossain, Mohammad Saifuddin, Abu Hider, Abu Jayed, Ariful Haque, Mahedi Hasan, Zakir Hasan, Afif Hossain
