Former captain Brendan Taylor and pace bowler Kyle Jarvis are set to make their international comebacks after they were included in Zimbabwe’s squad for the upcoming two-Test series against the West Indies.

Taylor, who last played international cricket at the 2015 World Cup, opted out of his Kolpak deal with Nottinghamshire towards the end of the recent county season and ended up signing a contract with Zimbabwe Cricket.

It was a similar story for Jarvis, who has not represented Zimbabwe since August 2013.

Zimbabwe have made seven changes to their squad since their last Test assignment, which came against Sri Lanka in July.

Ryan Burl, Tendai Chatara, Tarisai Musakanda, Carl Mumba, Natsai Mushangwe, Nathan Waller and Donald Tiripano have all been excluded, but Chatara is the only player to be left out due to injury.

Solomon Mire, who has played 22 ODIs to date, is set to make his Test debut, while wicketkeeper-batsman Nyasha Mayavo and left-arm seamer Tendai Chisoro made the cut as well.

While Zimbabwe will be looking to take down a largely inexperienced West Indies side, there is no doubt they will be in for a challenge, especially as the men from the Caribbean defeated England in a memorable Test match at Headingley in August.

The first Test between Zimbabwe and the West Indies will be held in Bulawayo on October 21, while the second Test will take place at the same venue on October 29.

Zimbabwe’s Test Squad: Graeme Cremer (capt), Hamilton Masakadza, Solomon Mire, Chamu Chibhabha, Craig Ervine, Brendan Taylor, Sikandar Raza, Sean Williams, Malcolm Waller, Peter Moor, Regis Chakabva (wk), Michael Chinouya, Chris Mpofu, Kyle Jarvis, Tendai Chisoro, Nyasha Mayavo.
