Evin Lewis put on a show at the Kensington Oval as he hammered an unbeaten 97 off just 32 balls to lead the St Kitts and Nevis Patriots to a 10-wicket win over the Barbados Tridents.
With their victory, the Patriots overtook the Jamaica Tallawahs on the points table and now sit in second place. The Tridents, meanwhile, failed to advance to the knockout stage of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) as they faced a must-win situation coming into this game.
In their last fixtures, the Patriots lost to the Tallawahs by 41 runs, while the Tridents defeated the Trinbago Knight Riders by 16 runs.
Being put in to bat first, the Tridents got off to a brisk start as openers Nicholas Pooran and Dwayne Smith amassed a 43-run partnership inside five overs.
However, on the final ball of the fifth over, Pooran was clean bowled by Mohammad Hafeez for 21.
Smith fell on the first ball of the next over as he caught behind off the bowling of Carlos Brathwaite for 17.
Kane Williamson only made 14 and once he was gone, Eoin Morgan, Shamar Springer and skipper Kieron Pollard followed in quick succession.

Tion Webster managed to make a 25-ball 32, which set the platform for the Tridents to go on and score 128/9 off their 20 overs.
Brathwaite was the pick of the bowlers with four wickets, while Tabraiz Shamsi snapped up two, and Hafeez and Mohammad Nabi chipped in with one wicket apiece.

Lewis played the role of the aggressor, while Gayle was more than happy to keep putting him on strike and dispatching any poor deliveries he received to the boundary.
Lewis ended up finishing on 97 off 32 balls, which included six boundaries and 11 sixes, while Gayle remained undefeated on 22 off 14 deliveries, which included three boundaries and a six.
