Sohail Tanvir finished with figures of 5-3 off his four overs

Sohail Tanvir wreaked immense havoc with the ball as he took five wickets and conceded just three runs from his four overs as the Guyana Amazon Warriors annihilated the Barbados Tridents by 99 runs.
The Amazon Warriors’ comprehensive win keeps them in fourth place on the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) standings with eight points, while the Tridents remain in fifth with four points.
Coming into the game, the Amazon Warriors were looking to build on their win over the St Lucia Stars, while the Tridents would have been looking for revenge as they lost their last match, which ironically was against the Amazon Warriors.
Being put in to bat first, the Amazon Warriors got off to a brisk start before Tanvir was dismissed by Wayne Parnell for seven runs.
Chadwick Walton, who opened the batting with Tanvir, was looking good early on, but could not make the most of it as he was sent packing by Ravi Rampaul for 20.
Luke Ronchi struck a 13-ball 24 before his time at the crease came to an end as he was clean bowled by Imran Khan.
Even though Gajanand Singh fell shortly after, Assad Fudadin and Jason Mohammed stabilised the innings with a 42-run partnership before Fudadin was removed by Akeal Hosein for 27.
Mohammed went on to make 42 off 35 balls, which included three boundaries and two sixes, before he was caught by Shamar Springer at mid-off off the bowling of Rampaul.

In the end, the Amazon Warriors finished on 158/8 thanks to a quickfire 21 from Roshon Primus.
Rampaul and Hosein picked up two wickets apiece, while Parnell and Imran chipped in with one wicket each.
Chasing 159 to win, Tridents opener Kane Williamson was walking back to the pavilion on the sixth ball of the innings after being dismissed by Tanvir.
Tanvir then proceeded to remove Dwyane Smith before carving through the Tridents’ middle and lower order.
Once Tanvir had inflicted a massive amount of damage, Rashid Khan joined the party and finished things off when he cleaned up Springer for 14 runs.

Springer, Hosein and wicketkeeper Nicholas Pooran were the only three batsmen to reach double figures as the Tridents were skittled out for 59.
Tanvir was easily the most successful bowler with five wickets, while Rashid took three, and Primus and Keemo Paul claimed one wicket each.
