Pakistan all-rounder Mohammad Nawaz has been handed a two-month suspension after admitting that he failed to report an approach.

Nawaz’s suspension began on May 16, but he will be allowed to return to cricket in a month should he adhere to a set of guidelines set by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

In addition to being banned, the 23-year-old’s contract was suspended and he was also fined 200,000 Pakistani rupees. He will also have to take part in the PCB’s anti-corruption education programmes.

“Nawaz submitted his written statement admitting the charges levelled against him by PCB and appeared for subsequent meetings with PCB on 16th May 2017 to properly explain his case,” the PCB said.

Nawaz has represented Pakistan in three Tests, nine ODIs and five Twenty20 Internationals to date.
