South Africa have released pace bowler Duanne Olivier from their squad ahead of the third Test against New Zealand in Hamilton on March 25.

With the departure of Olivier, the Proteas only have Wayne Parnell as a replacement for the pace trio of Kagiso Rabada, Vernon Philander and Morne Morkel as Chris Morris was released midway through the second Test in Wellington.

Olivier made his Test debut against Sri Lanka in Johannesburg in January and finished with match figures of 5-57 in his side’s innings and 118-run win.

But, the 24-year-old will have to wait until South Africa tour England in July in order to add to his sole Test cap.

South Africa hold a 1-0 lead going into the third Test as they beat the Black Caps by eight wickets in Wellington.
