West Indies all-rounder Marlon Samuels has been given the green light to bowl in international cricket after his bowling action was deemed legal by the International Cricket Council (ICC).

Samuels was banned from bowling for 12 months in December 2015 after his action was found to be illegal for the second time in 24 months.

The 36-year-old had his action reassessed at the ICC-accredited testing centre in Loughborough, where his off-spin deliveries were found to be within the 15-degree limit.

Samuels’ action has been reported twice more in the past, the first instance coming in 2008 and the second in a Test match against India in November 2013.

Samuels has not represented the West Indies since November last year, but could make his comeback in the upcoming ODI series against England next month if he is selected.
